Motorola T722i Cell Phone Overview
Compatible with T-Mobile cell phone service, the Motorola T722i features a 7-9 line, 120 x 160 pixel, 4096 CSTN graphic color display with a handy zoom in/out feature, as well as a camera, Web browsing, messenger service, and a large variety of organization tools, all packaged in Motorola's typical, solid-feeling, flip phone format.
Your calls will be clearer than ever with the T722i's 1900 MHz GSM network signal, and its external caller ID display lets you can see who's calling before you answer. For customization, you can download 16 level (MIDI) ring tones, and use different sounding alerts for incoming calls, received messages, faxes, reminders, even as caller ID.
The T722i's Internet browser provides access to email, and lets you wirelessly send and receive messages with sounds, pictures, and animation, either to another compatible phone or to any e-mail address. (Sending pictures requires subscription to t-zone service.) Then you can surf the Net and access directions, stock quotes, airline information, and whatever else you might need.
To get those pictures we mentioned, the T722i comes with a little digital camera that clips onto the bottom of the phone like an inverted periscope, with a lens that can pivot 180-degrees so you can get the ideal angle for each shot. The photos you take can be saved as wallpaper or screensavers, or for sending to your PC later. You can choose your picture size, so you don't need to send a huge photo if you only need a thumbnail. A handy low light feature helps optimize your images when indoors or on cloudy days, and you can store up to 48 photos in the camera's shared memory. gets its power from the phone battery.
The T722i's iTAP software makes text messaging easy in email, short messages or other edit modes, by anticipating words as you try and spell them. Or, for the futurists out there, the T722i's voice recognition feature lets you simply speak one of the names or numbers in your Phone Book (up to 5 entries), or a function that you want, and your phone calls it for you.
As an organizer, the T722i sports a Personal Information Manager (PIM), which includes 100 phonebook entries, a date book, and a calculator with currency converter. Multi-point synchronization lets you sync with compatible PIM manager devices, desktop applications, and web based services using Starfish True Sync software (software sold separately). You can also download up to up to 200K worth of Java games and applications. The phone provides 500 kb memory for EMS graphics and ring tones. You can even customize your phone, using preinstalled wallpaper and screensavers, or by downloading new ones.
Other features include a racing game called MotoGP, plus TTY digital compatibility for the hearing impaired, auto redial notification, call forwarding, mobile subscriber busy, subscriber not reachable, call waiting, call hold, alternate line/dual name, turbo dial keys, ringer/vibrate suppress, multiple call timers, multiple key answer, Vibracall alert, last numbers dialed, last calls received, phone book of up to 100 entries, battery meter (always shown in display), roaming, text message waiting, voice message waiting, signal strength indicator, voice and message mail, and alert setting indicator.
Security features include call restrictions, keypad lock, phone lock, application lock, and new passwords. This phone is rated at 210 - 390 minutes of talk time and 120 - 230 hours of standby time. It measures 3.5 x 1.87 x 0.83 inches, and weighs.7 ounces.
