Nokia’s 6200 tri-band phone is the world’s first wireless phone that is compatible with EDGE (Enhanced Data-Rates for GSM Evolution)—a technology that enhances network and service performance to provide faster and more efficient data transfer. EDGE, combined with the Nokia 6200’s GPRS connection, speeds up mobile Internet access on the integrated XHTML browser and offers a fast exchange during mobile messaging using SMS or MMS. Java support lets users download applications or informational tools, such as stock tracking programs or city guides. The Nokia 6200 phone comes with the Java application Converter and the preloaded game Bounce—both of which look amazing on the high-resolution 4,096-color display.

Other fun features on this handset include eight different color schemes, wallpaper templates, a quick-access "Go To" menu, polyphonic ring tones, and a stereo FM radio.
